It is a common misconception that in order to be successful in life, you need to ADD something to your life. Maybe it’s a new strategy, a new mentor to train us, a new book or a new seminar. Now don’t misunderstand, ALL of those things are great and will help get you to where you want to be in your life. But sometimes, it’s the things we GIVE UP not the things we add that make all the difference.
How about we start with giving up an unhealthy lifestyle? If you don’t get that under control, you will not be able to achieve anything. We all know this, but it bears repeating…start with a healthy diet and increase your physical activity.
Next, let’s look at letting go of a short-term mindset. Successful people set long-term goals that are accomplished as a result of consistently achieving short-term habits done every day. There’s a big difference between working out to fit into that party dress as opposed to working out because that’s simply who you are.
Here’s a BIG one to give up….your EXCUSES! Yep, the stories you make up in your mind about why you can’t have this or that in your life or why it’s never going to happen for you. Let them go because they are what’s creating a belief that’s limiting you and keeping you stuck right where you are!
