It is probably safe to say that we have all engaged in bad habits at one time or another in our lives. Whether it’s nail biting, smoking, overeating or an emotional bad habit, these behaviors are costing us somewhere in our lives.

Maybe you have tried to quit. Maybe you have quit for a while. But, the change did not last and you went right back into it. So, how can you kick a bad habit for good?

So, let’s start with what bad habit would you like to get rid of? But, that’s only the beginning. Ask yourself the following questions and write it out your answers:

  1. WHY do you want to get rid of that habit?
  2. What is that habit costing you?
  3. What are all the positive changes will happen in your life because you got it under control?
  4. Who else will benefit from this change?

    The key to making this change last is to make breaking the habit bigger than the habit itself. When you really get that by creating this change in your life that the people who you love in your life will be positively benefitted as well, or that your business will be able to expand or that your life will be more fulfilling, you will be more likely to kick the habit for good.
